06 essential steps
Prepare before delivery
Have a mature aquarium or quarantine tank ready with dechlorinated water, stable temperature and strong aeration. Keep the lights dim and make sure you can receive the parcel promptly.
Record the unboxing
Record one continuous video starting from the sealed parcel, including the outer box, packing, unopened fish bag and fish condition. Keep all packaging until the fish has been checked.
Inspect before opening
Check the bag for leaks and observe the fish’s posture and breathing. If anything appears unusual, continue recording and contact us before proceeding whenever possible.
Equalise temperature
Float the unopened fish bag in the aquarium for about 15–20 minutes, away from strong light. Then slowly add small amounts of aquarium water into the bag to help the fish acclimate. A drip acclimation method can also be used. Do not leave the sealed fish bag unattended for an extended period.
Transfer into clean water
After temperature and water acclimation are complete, gently transfer the fish into the aquarium without pouring the transport water into the tank. Once the transport bag has been opened, avoid extending the acclimation process for too long.
Let the fish settle
Keep lighting low, maintain strong oxygenation and minimise disturbance. Allow the fish to settle before feeding, usually 12–24 hours, while monitoring breathing and swimming.
